Continuous Improvement and Process Coordinator (Gatineau area)

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the incumbent's mandate is to analyze, improve, and optimize wood processing processes. He or she works closely with the maintenance, production, and quality teams to increase sawmill line performance, reduce material loss, and increase equipment reliability in a forestry industry environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Analyze sawmill processes and recommend areas for improvement
  • Optimize SOPs, QMS, and preventive maintenance plans
  • Participate in failure analyses (5M, 5 Whys)
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Coordinate sawmill planning and production based on inventories and the market needs
  • Collaborate with external sales to manage material flows
  • Propose and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Write operational reports and analyze equipment readings
  • Ensure quality monitoring (stacker, wax, processes)
  • Program automated systems (Comact)

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in wood engineering or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of wood products (an asset)
  • Skills in continuous improvement, problem solving, and project management
  • Good command of MS Office and analytical tools
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork
  • Autonomy, rigor, and focus on results

Strengths to develop or consolidate

  • Knowledge of NHLA and softwood grades
  • Optimization of working methods
  • Artificial intelligence systems and optimizers
