Electrical Engineer - Energy Efficiency

STATUS: Temporary - duration 104 weeks

SCHEDULE: 33.75 hours per week, DAY; MONDAY to FRIDAY - 08:30 to 16:30

The challenges that await you

You will be responsible for finding optimal solutions in energy efficiency as well as in asset maintenance and will be responsible for applying them to studies, design, and monitoring of work on electrical and electronic works.

And more specifically:

  • You will develop, design, prepare, and approve studies, plans, specifications, estimates, as well as documents related to calls for tenders, and you will analyze them for the work where the City will act as the project owner in your area of expertise;
  • You will participate in the coordination and supervision of mandates entrusted to external firms for the implementation and replacement of various electrical systems;
  • You will ensure the management of projects within your area of expertise, including monitoring schedules, controlling costs, and ensuring the quality of works in progress. You will also determine any modifications to be made, if necessary;
  • You will plan and coordinate the work related to your area of expertise, and you will act as the City’s representative with various municipal services, public utility companies, and government bodies;
  • You will participate in meetings, discussions, or gatherings with employees from your department, other City departments, or with representatives from external organizations to examine issues related to your field, propose appropriate solutions, and ensure follow-up on decisions made;
  • You will analyze and verify requests as well as documents from other divisions and services of the City or from external organizations. You will provide any relevant information and make recommendations within your area of expertise.
The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Have eight (8) years of relevant work experience in the function, particularly in the industrial or water treatment field;
  • Experience with low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems;
  • Have worked on large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders;
  • Have solid experience in the study and preparation of contractual documents for electrical projects;
  • PMP certification is an asset;
  • Hold a valid driver's license;
  • Hold an ASP card.
