Your Mission

As the coordinator of the design team, you will be responsible for guiding, mentoring, and mobilizing a team of about ten mechanical designers.

Under the supervision of the Engineering Director, your mandate will be to:

  • Ensure the performance of your team and oversee the delivery of complete designs and plans that comply with engineering standards.

  • Distribute tasks according to each person's strengths and provide technical and strategic support on a daily basis.

  • Supervise the professional development of your team members and actively contribute to their progression.

  • Sign and seal your own designs and, if necessary, validate or approve those of your colleagues.

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of design tools, methods, and processes.

  • Directly intervene in certain complex design projects to support your team.


Profile

Your Technical Skills

We are looking for someone with a solid technical expertise combined with strong team leadership skills:

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical and structural design of complex assemblies

  • Material strength (MS): stress, load, and deformation calculations

  • Design of lightweight metal structures (steel, aluminum, sandwich panels)

  • Manufacturing of sheet metal parts (tolerances, bending, laser cutting, welding)

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks and Revit required, FEA an asset)

  • Understanding of sealing and air control principles (pressure, seals, airtight doors)

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC system integration

  • Knowledge of design and industrial safety standards

Other Desired Skills

  • Configuration management and standardization of components

  • Manufacturing optimization (DFM)

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and in managing technical projects

  • Ability to validate and seal designs (member of the OIQ)

Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a member of the OIQ.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role including team coordination.

  • Proficiency in CAD tools (Revit and SolidWorks required, FEA an asset).

  • Experience with sheet metal.

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment, welding, and structures (assets).

  • Rigorous, disciplined, structured, and solution-oriented.

  • English level: functional intermediate minimum (bilingual an asset).
